Hello, I’m Lily.
I’m a watercolor and cut paper artist based in Redwood City, CA. My work blends abstract and figurative art, fueled by curiosity and the everyday wonders that make me smile.
After 15 years in the corporate world, I pursued my true passion. I earned an Associate of Arts degree from Foothill College and studied with various art organizations. It was here I discovered my love for watercolor and cut paper art—especially the tactile beauty of "painting with paper."
When my daughter was born, I created animal-themed cut paper paintings for her nursery. I launched my art career with a series of 12 animal paintings. Since then, I’ve expanded to floral and abstract works, showcasing my art at local events.
I’m doing what I love every day—and I’m just getting started!
About My Art
My art is colorful, dreamy, and inspired by nature. It’s meticulous yet free-spirited, blending organic forms with geometric shapes, dynamic mark-making, and vibrant palettes. I love experimenting with paper, creating tactile, visual experiences that spark intrigue and invite closer examination.
Abstract Art
My abstract works explore the unique adventures and emotions that shape us, forming complex and beautiful forms. Some pieces echo underwater worlds, inspired by the fluidity of watercolor, while others, with Bauhaus-inspired cutouts, leave room for imagination to fill in the gaps.
The "Pebbles" series celebrates a calm curiosity of “what if” — what if I carefully arrange these hand-painted, hand-cut watercolor paper pieces like this, or that? What visuals, emotions, or memories do they evoke?
Botanical Art
Inspired by California’s stunning blooms, my botanical series captures the intricate shapes and negative spaces of plants. With bold colors and expressive mark-making, each piece brings the beauty of nature and our colorful world into focus.
Animal Art
My animal art began as a personal project for my daughter’s nursery. What started with 12 animal cut-paper paintings in 2022 has since grown into a full-fledged collection, with commissioned pieces bringing new animal characters to life.
