Frequently asked questions.
What materials do you use?
I use a variety of archival art materials like: watercolor, gouache, watercolor pencils/crayons, acrylic solid markers, gel pens, ink pens, 140lb and 300lb watercolor paper, heavy duty acid free YES! paste glue.
I also protect the majority of my paper artwork with a few coats of Krylon UV Archival Varnish matte finish spray which protects against fading, dirt, moisture, and discoloration. UV Archival Varnish is removable for conservation purposes. Each product listing will specify if it’s been sprayed or not.
Do you take commissions?
I accept a limited number of commissions each year, so please message me and let’s discuss what’s possible!
What to expect:
We’ll have conversations on colors, sizing, framing, budget, timing, past works of mine you like, and styles that you like.
I’ll share a few digital sketches of what I’d like to make. No strings attached!
Once you approve a sketch, I’ll provide detailed pricing & timeline and create a custom order on my website for you to process payment. Payment in full is required and non-refundable before work begins.
Timing from initial conversations to finished painting can take 2-4 months, depending on the scope of the project. You will receive progress photos along the way and a digital folder of final photography and videography of the completed piece.
Do you ship outside the U.S.?
I only ship within the US for my online shop.
I review international ordering & shipping requests individually. If I feel confident with navigating shipping & customs to a particular address, I will create an invoice for you and factor in the appropriate international shipping & handling fees. Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. I'm not responsible for delays due to customs. Please reach out via my contact form, and we’ll go from there!
Do you offer free local pickups & deliveries?
Yes! You can select “Free Local Pickup at my local Starbucks in San Carlos, CA” or “Free Delivery between Burlingame & Menlo Park, CA” from your delivery options.
These options allow you to save on shipping costs, especially for bundled purchases and larger artworks.
I’m happy to make a local delivery in the greater SF Bay Area — i.e. SF, Marin, Peninsula outside of free local delivery range, East Bay, and South Bay. Fees will range from $10 to $30 depending on mileage and bridge tolls. Please reach out via my contact form before placing a purchase and I can create a custom invoice for you instead.
How do you package my order?
Unframed art will be placed inside a plastic sleeve sandwiched between layers of cardboard for protection. The “cardboard sandwich” will then be placed inside a larger box with reused air pillows or crumpled packing paper as buffering all around.
Framed art will either be placed inside the frame’s original box or a custom cut cardboard box. The box will then be placed inside a larger box with reused air pillows or crumpled packing paper as buffering all around.
When will I receive my order?
Once your order is complete, I will package and ship your art within 3 days, not counting weekends. For example, if you place an order on Friday, I will ship your art no later than the following Wednesday.
All artwork will be shipped via USPS Ground Advantage with tracking information unless otherwise specified. Customers will be responsible for shipping costs. USPS Ground Advantage typically takes 5-10 days for home delivery based on location in the United States.
Local pickups (within. 15 mile radius from Redwood City) are free. Please enter LOCAL at checkout and I’ll reach out to schedule a pickup date and time. SF Bay Area deliveries outside of the 15 mile radius are still cheaper than mailing through USPS. Please reach out and I’m happy to provide some pricing based on mileage.
How do I care for my newly purchased painting?
Your new original artwork on paper is carefully crafted with archival, acid-free watercolor paper, water-based paints, pen ink, and heavy duty glue (for cut paper pieces). To best protect this piece, please handle gently with clean, dry hands and have it framed.
Please refrain from displaying it in direct sunlight or in extra humid spaces (i.e. outdoors, near a shower or stovetop). Paper art will warp or fade if you do. I hope you enjoy this piece for a very long and happy time!
Do you accept returns?
No. All orders are final sale. I only offer refunds or exchanges (minus shipping fees) if there is visible damage to an order. Please reach out with photo evidence of the item’s damaged condition, and I will try my best to remedy the situation.
