A Dozen Oyster Mamas No. 3
22”x30” - watercolor, gouache, acrylic, paint stick, pen ink on 300lb watercolor paper.
Professionally installed and floated in a custom-crafted 27"x35" Baltic birch frame with UV protected, glare reducing acrylic museum glass.
This cut paper painting honors motherhood by echoing the oyster’s remarkable ability to endure change, overcome adversity, build habitats, and grow while nurturing precious pearls.
Like oysters, mothers undergo profound transformation and struggle, seek supportive communities, and continually learn as they teach and nurture their children.
Though real oysters are often gray and unassuming, these abstract forms are anything but—each representing a unique, resilient mother, together honoring a vibrant community of mamas.
