Filling in the Blanks of Springtime I - 18"x24"

from $375.00

"Filling in the Blanks of Springtime I" is a colorful geometric cut paper painting that's about reminiscing past springtimes and being hopeful for new ones.

I used watercolor paint, colored pencils, pens, and gouache paint to fill the painting with different floral drawings (marigolds, white cosmos, dahlia, lavender, cone flowers, chive flowers), springtime colors, and mark making from tiny pen dots to thick wavy lines.

I then hand cut and glued varying sizes of triangular and diamond shapes onto a larger 18"x24" sheet of archival 300gsm watercolor paper to reveal an overall geometric pattern. Some of the blanks are drawn in, as a literal interpretation of the concept "filling in the blanks from my memories."

A 1.5 inch border of unpainted watercolor paper naturally frames the painting. You can also add an optional 1 inch mat border to provide additional depth and breathing room.

ARTIST SIGNATURE - This piece includes a small, simple artist signature along an edge in the bottom right corner.

OPTIONAL FRAME - I'm happy to include a wood or black metal frame shown in the photos for an additional cost. The frames include a glass cover and a back board with easy-to-rotate turn buttons and metal hangers. Please note that the display area of the wood frame is slightly larger and REQUIRES a mat border to properly frame the painting.

OPTIONAL MAT BORDER - I'm happy to include the mat border you see in the photographs. They were custom cut to fit my artwork and allows room for the paper to breathe.

PROTECTIVE SPRAY & PAPER ART CARE - This piece has been sprayed with an archival matte varnish with UVLs to protect the surface from dust and fading from light exposure. However, to best protect your new original watercolor artwork, please keep it framed with a glass/plexiglass cover and out of direct sunlight. Avoid displaying it in extra humid or hot spaces (i.e. outdoors, next to a shower, or near a stovetop).

PACKAGING - This painting (including mat border if ordered) will be carefully inserted in a plastic sleeve, sandwiched between sturdy cardboard sheets, and placed in a well-padded shipping box. Framed artwork (no plastic sleeve) will be wrapped in multiple layers of cardboard and padding before being placed in a shipping box.

COPYRIGHT - I retain all copyrights to my artwork.

RETURN POLICY - Orders are final sale. I only offer refunds or exchanges if there is any damage to an order. Please reach out with photo evidence of the item’s damaged condition, and I will try my best to remedy the situation. Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. I'm not responsible for delays due to customs. Any items returned due to refusal to pay these fees or incorrect addresses will not be refunded.
