"Let's Play Four Square & More" is a colorful geometric cut paper painting that's about a happy playful place when the many shapes, lines, marks, and colors come together.
I used watercolors, pens, and gouache to paint layered organic shapes and patterns. I then hand cut and glued swirly psychedelic shapes onto 16"x20" sheet of archival 300gsm watercolor paper to reveal a larger geometric pattern. The bottom layer is then painted with 2 different color schemes to match the organic shapes' edges in the top layer.
