Underwater Abstractions - Sea Anemones - 12"x16"

10”x14” - Watercolor, pen ink, oil-based paint stick on watercolor paper

This piece is ready to hang in a 12"x16" walnut wood frame and double mat border to add extra depth to the piece.

Sea anemones symbolize flower-like beauty, resilience, protection (hi clownfish!), and adaptability in constantly changing harsh conditions.

Sea anemones are tough & resilient. They’re vital parts of reefs. They’ll sting ya if you f*ck with them. Like them, we build our own support systems. Like them, we protect one another. The world can feel overwhelming and complicated, but we don’t have to endure it alone. Let’s look out for one another. 

With this cut paper painting, I daydreamt that each shape, pattern, layer represented different aspects of our lives coming together as uniquely complex and beautiful forms. Most of my abstract work feel like underwater curiosities, inspired by my love for watercolors' flowy nature.

PROTECTIVE SPRAY - This piece hasn’t been sprayed with Krylon UV Archival Varnish, but if you want me to apply the protective spray at no extra cost, please message me after purchase.

PAPER ART CARE - To best protect your new original watercolor artwork, please keep it out of direct sunlight and behind a protective glass or plexiglass cover. Avoid displaying it in extra humid or hot spaces (i.e. outdoors, next to a shower, or near a stovetop).
