Wheel of Sunset Swirls
10”x10” - watercolor, gouache on deckled edge watercolor paper
12”x12” wood composite MDF floating frame
This piece is all about feeling nurtured by a sunset. I usually freestyle my cut-paper backgrounds, and the first idea that came through was cutting some wavy lines of energy. After that, I easily pictured the warmth of sun rays alongside the cooling waves of the ocean and made this little number!
After almost 15 years of living in California, I never take sunsets for granted. I feel all the feels when I’m lucky enough to watch the sun fully set into the ocean.
